Basketball Recap: Escalon Cougars vs. Hughson Huskies
Escalon won the last time they faced Hughson and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Escalon Cougars simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Hughson Huskies 58-22. The Cougars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 20 points or more this season.

Leading Escalon to victory were Arianna Velasco and Madi Babasa. Velasco dropped a double-double on 19 points and 13 steals, while Babasa went 6 for 15 en route to 23 points in addition to seven boards and three steals. Velasco has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 15 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Aiden Hohenwarter, who posted 11 points and eight rebounds.
Escalon was working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hughson only posted four assists.
Despite the loss, Hughson had strong showings from Leah Hobby, who earned eight points and six boards, and Morgan Bleakley, who put up no points.
The victory got Escalon back to even at 9-9. As for Hughson, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-14.
