Baseball Game Preview: Johnson Knights vs. East Jackson Eagles

The Johnson Knights will head out on the road to face off against the East Jackson Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Last Tuesday, Johnson came up short against Rabun County and fell 14-9. The Knights haven't had much luck with the Wildcats recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Felipi Delgado made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Those stolen bases were his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jean Mancebo, who scored a run while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

Meanwhile, East Jackson lost 8-2 to Banks County on Tuesday.

East Jackson's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Johnson, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Johnson might still be hurting after the 14-1 defeat they got from East Jackson in their previous matchup back in March of 2023. Can Johnson avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
