Football Game Preview: River Ridge Royal Knights vs. Clearwater Tornadoes + How To Watch

The River Ridge Royal Knights will challenge the Clearwater Tornadoes at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. River Ridge's defense has only allowed 9.9 points per game this season, so Clearwater's offense will have their work cut out for them.

On Friday, River Ridge ended up a good deal behind Mitchell and lost 37-21. The Royal Knights have struggled against the Mustangs recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.

The losing side was boosted by Jonah Clouse, who rushed for 63 yards and one TD.

Meanwhile, Clearwater started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against Lake Wales. They took a 33-27 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Highlanders on Friday. While the Tornadoes didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Highlanders 13-0 in the first quarter.

River Ridge will have to contain Jaylen White as he made an impact in Clearwater's last game. He rushed for 135 yards and one touchdown on only 11 carries, and also threw for 208 yards and one TD on only 18 passes. White's passing game has become a key predictor of Clearwater's success: the team is 3-1 when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-2 otherwise. Another rusher making a difference was Sincere McClinton, who rushed for 73 yards and a pair of scores.

Having lost for the first time this season, River Ridge fell to 6-1. As for Clearwater, their loss dropped their record down to 4-3.
