Softball Recap: Five Straight Home Wins for Morrison

Morrison had won five straight at home, but on Tuesday they bumped up to 5-2 to make it six. They had just enough and edged out the Luther Lions 4-3. While the Wildcats didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-19), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

As for Luther, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-7. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the losses came by an average of only 1.75 runs.

For Luther's part, they saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brooke Wilkins, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI. That double marked the first that Wilkins has hit this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Morrison will take on Frontier at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Luther, they will venture away from home to square off against Wellston at 4:30 p.m. on September 4.
