Chaparrals finish 16-0, send coach Todd Dodge into retirement with seventh overall state title and third straight.

The high school football season in Texas came to a close over the weekend. Austin Westlake was among the victors with a 40-21 win over Denton Guyer in the UIL 6A Division II finals. That victory helped propel the Chaparrals to the No. 1 ranking in the final Texas MaxPreps Top 25.

Austin Westlake completed its unbeaten season and sent retiring head coach Todd Dodge out a winner with the school's third straight UIL title - and Dodge's seventh crown over all. In the finals, Texas Player of the Year Cade Klubnik threw for 280 yards and four scores, including three to wideout Jaden Greathouse, to run the Chaps win streak to 40 games.

In his eighth season as head coach for the Chaps, Dodge went a remarkable 104-13, including 16-0 this season when Westlake outscored opponents 898-142.

In the 6A Division I finals, North Shore (Houston) downed Duncanville 17-10 in a rematch of the 2018 and 2019 finals. The Mustangs land No. 2 in the final Texas MaxPreps Top 25 rankings as a 39-yard touchdown pass from freshman Kaleb Bailey to David Amador with 2 minutes, 53 seconds remaining lifted Mustangs to the title.
