Soccer Game Preview: Fullerton vs. Calvary Chapel

The Fullerton Indians will take on the Calvary Chapel Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Fullerton's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They beat Westminster by a goal, winning 1-0. Given the Indians' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 229th, while the Lions are ranked 542nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Fullerton's one-goal win came courtesy of Briselda Tellez, who's now up to 17 this season.

Meanwhile, Calvary Chapel was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Garden Grove.

Fullerton's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-5-3. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored ten goals over those three contests. As for Calvary Chapel, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-8-1.

Fullerton came up short against Calvary Chapel in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, falling 4-2. Can Fullerton avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
