It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Archbishop Wood had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They blew past the Villa Maria Academy Hurricanes 58-32. The Vikings have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 matches by 26 points or more this season.

The win (which was Archbishop Wood's third in a row) raised their record to 20-7. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.0 points on average over those games. As for Villa Maria Academy, the defeat snapped their winning streak at six games and leaves them with a 16-12 record.

Looking ahead, Archbishop Wood will challenge Bethlehem Catholic on Saturday. Bethlehem Catholic will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Archbishop Wood surely won't give up without a fight. Villa Maria Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
