Baseball Recap: Denmark Gets the Win

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Denmark ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They skirted past the Cherokee Bluff Bears 10-9. For Denmark, this counts as revenge for the 3-1 win Cherokee Bluff walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2024.

The team relied heavily on Geno Goralski, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and three runs. He is becoming a predictor of Denmark's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 0-3 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Daniel Biondo, who went 4-for-5 with two doubles and two RBI.

Denmark kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cherokee Bluff onlymanaged eight hits.

Denmark now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Cherokee Bluff, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Looking ahead, Denmark will head out on the road to square off against Cambridge at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Denmark is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.7 runs per game this season. As for Cherokee Bluff, they will be playing at home against Wesleyan at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cherokee Bluff also hasn't been messing around on offense: they've averaged 7.4 runs per game.
