Football Recap: Laurel Falls Despite Big Games from Demerius Custis and Kareem Oyekan + How To Watch

The matchup between Laurel and Potomac on Friday hardly resembled the 14-13 effort from their previous meeting. The Spartans fell 41-29 to the Wolverines. The Spartans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Kareem Oyekan and Demerius Custis certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Oyekan picked up 146 receiving yards and one score, while Custis threw for 163 yards and one TD.

A big part of Potomac's victory came down to the chemistry between Damarion Baxter and his top target Treyvon Evans. Baxter rushed for 59 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only eight carries while Evans rushed for 61 yards. Evans was even better on defense, making eight total tackles and defending one pass.

Laurel now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Potomac, the win keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Coming up, Laurel will take on DuVal at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Spartans will be up against the Tigers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 29.8 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Potomac, they will challenge Northwestern at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
