Baseball Recap: Sandy Creek Comes Up Short

Sandy Creek was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 12-1 to the Mary Persons Bulldogs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-0 last Tuesday.

Sandy Creek saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Isaiah Dorsey, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI. Those two hits gave Dorsey a new career-high.

Sandy Creek's defeat dropped their record down to 5-15-1. As for Mary Persons, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-12 record this season.

Sandy Creek didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 10-0 loss against Trinity Christian on the 28th. As for Mary Persons, they have also already played their next game, a 7-1 victory against LaGrange on the 28th.
