Football Recap: Minico Takes a Loss

After flying high against Mountain Home last Friday, Minico came back down to earth. The Spartans took a blow against the Bishop Kelly Knights on Friday, falling 62-14. The Spartans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Knights apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2024.

While passing duties were split, you can't argue with the impact Ben Avella and Jaxson Brady both made on the contest. Avella threw for 256 yards and four touchdowns while completing 72.7% of his passes while Brady gained 195 total yards and two touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Charlie Dahl, who gained 95 total yards and a touchdown.

Having lost for the first time this season, Minico fell to 2-1. As for Bishop Kelly, their win was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0.

Minico didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 58-21 victory against Jerome on the 12th. As for Bishop Kelly, they have also already played their next match, a 29-15 win against Rigby on the 12th.
