Preview: Hanover Area Hawkeyes vs. Lake-Lehman Knights
Hanover Area is 1-9 against Lake-Lehman since January of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Hanover Area Hawkeyes will head out on the road to face off against the Lake-Lehman Knights at 6:45 p.m. Hanover Area is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 51-14, which was the final score in Hanover Area's tilt against Wyoming Area on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Hanover Area has suffered against Wyoming Area since January 21, 2021.
Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Lake-Lehman on the road against MMI Preparatory School on Monday as the team secured a 54-23 win. Given Lake-Lehman's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 267th, while MMI Preparatory School is ranked 559th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Hanover Area bumped their record down to 0-7 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Lake-Lehman, the win got them back to even at 3-3.
Hanover Area was dealt a bruising 57-16 loss at the hands of Lake-Lehman in their previous matchup back in January of 2023. Can Hanover Area avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
