Volleyball Recap: Elk Lake Takes a Loss

Elk Lake had lost seven straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Thursday they dropped down to 1-12 to make it eight. They fell just short of the Valley View Cougars by a score of 3-2. The Warriors were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cougars apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

As for Valley View, the win snapped their losing streak at four matches and leaves them with a 4-10 record. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory they have posted since September 18th.

Valley View's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Madison Hallock, who had eight digs and four aces. That's the most digs Hallock has posted since back in September of 2024. Layla Marino was another key player, getting nine kills, six digs, and five aces.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Elk Lake is set to face off against their familiar foe Blue Ridge at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Valley View will square off against rival Mid Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
