Recap: San Juan Spartans vs. Foothill Mustangs
This season hasn't been kind to the San Juan Spartans, who are still winless after their sixth match. They were dealt a 50-17 loss at the hands of Foothill on Tuesday. San Juan was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Foothill apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.
Foothill can attribute much of their success to Zeniah Thompson, who scored 20 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Thompson has scored at least 25% of Foothill's points. Another player making a difference was Joyce Runner, who scored 11 points.
The last time San Juan won on the road was back last Monday. Having now lost four straight away contests, they've bumped their record down to 0-6. As for Foothill, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. San Juan will challenge Burbank at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Burbank focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Monday. As for Foothill, they will head out on the road to face off against Mira Loma at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
