Softball Recap: Collinsville Drops Season-High Score on Del City

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Collinsville). Everything went their way against the Del City Eagles on Wednesday as they made off with a 14-1 victory. The high-scoring effort was just what the Cardinals needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

Collinsville pushed their record up to 9-20 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Del City, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-22-1.

Collinsville didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-2 loss against Coweta on the 9th. Hopefully Del City paid attention to the Cardinals' game: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Cardinals on Thursday.
