Recap: University City Centurions vs. Patrick Henry Patriots

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Aliso Niguel, the University City Centurions were happy to have found some success on Tuesday. They took down Patrick Henry 32-18. That result was just more of the same for these two, as University City also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2023.

University City was led to victory by Chaya Scott and Kianna LeFear. Scott scored nine points along with five rebounds and two steals, while LeFear scored 14 points along with six rebounds. LeFear continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.

When it comes to explaining why Patrick Henry lost, one person who can't be blamed is Maddox Weisskopf. Despite the final result, she scored three points along with five steals. That's the first time this season that Weisskopf grabbed two or more steals. Another player making a difference was Cecelia Parker, who scored three points along with eight rebounds.

University City's win bumped their record up to 9-7. As for Patrick Henry, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season.

University City's road trip will continue as they head out to face Mira Mesa at 6:00 p.m. on January 12th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in California (Mira Mesa is ranked 520th, while University City is ranked 495th). As for Patrick Henry, they will be playing at home against San Diego at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully San Diego focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Tuesday.
