Basketball Game Preview: Bethel Christian Kings vs. The Grove School Ravens

Bethel Christian has gone 7-1 against The Grove School recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Bethel Christian Kings will be playing at home against The Grove School Ravens at 6:00 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many points in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Bethel Christian took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They snuck past Mesa Grande Academy with a 24-20 win. The score was all tied up 7-7 at the break, but the Kings were the better team in the second half.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bethel Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Faith Lantry, who posted eight points in addition to nine boards and three steals. That's the most rebounds Lantry has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Leah Lopez, who had four points along with ten boards and four steals.

Bethel Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 14 offensive boards in nine consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, The Grove School played a tough contest on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by Calvary Baptist and fell 40-13. The defeat continues a trend for the Ravens in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now lost nine in a row.

Ella Blauth was The Grove School's leading scorer, having posted five points. Aislin Henry held things down on the boards with ten rebounds.

The Grove School's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-5. As for Bethel Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 7-13.
