Basketball Recap: Destiny Christian Academy Takes a Loss

Destiny Christian Academy was the 59-35 winner over Ripon Christian when they last played one another back in February of 2017, but their luck changed this time around. The Destiny Christian Academy Lions fell 44-34 to the Ripon Christian Knights on Saturday. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why Destiny Christian Academy lost, don't look at Aaliyah Wilcox. Despite the final result, she went 8 for 18 on her way to 19 points and three steals. That was a full 55.9% of Destiny Christian Academy's points, marking the third time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points.

Destiny Christian Academy now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Ripon Christian, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-3.

Destiny Christian Academy and Nevada Union will round out the year against one another at at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Destiny Christian Academy is facing Nevada Union at the right time seeing as Nevada Union is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Ripon Christian, they will challenge Liberty Ranch at 5:30 p.m. on December 30th. Liberty Ranch is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.8 points per game this season.
