Basketball Recap: Diego Rivera Piles Up the Points Against Los Angeles

Diego Rivera won the last time they faced Los Angeles and things went their way on Monday too. The Diego Rivera Huskies breezed past the Los Angeles Romans to the tune of 58-25. The Huskies have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matches by 24 points or more this season.

Diego Rivera was led to victory by Desiree Aguillon and Brianna Collins. Aguillon posted 23 points along with seven rebounds and six assists, while Collins scored 27 points in addition to seven boards and four steals. That makes it five consecutive games in which Collins has scored at least a third of Diego Rivera's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Adriana Munoz, who earned four points and eight boards.

Diego Rivera smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in six consecutive games.

Diego Rivera has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.8 points over those games. As for Los Angeles, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-10.

Diego Rivera does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Los Angeles, they will take on West Adams at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
