Basketball Recap: Bell Takes a Loss

Bell had lost nine straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Wednesday they dropped down to 4-9 to make it ten. They had to suffer through a 100-23 loss at the hands of the Jackson-Reed Tigers. If the Griffins were looking for revenge after losing 84-11 to the Tigers when the teams met back in January of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Jackson-Reed, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Jackson-Reed's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Averi Knight, who posted 17 points. The matchup was Knight's third in a row with at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Olando Carroll, who put up 16 points.

Looking ahead, Bell will be playing in front of their home fans against Bard at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Griffins will need to watch out since the Falcons have now posted at least 55 points in their last four games. As for Jackson-Reed, they will head out on the road to challenge Dunbar at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
