Basketball Recap: McKeesport Takes a Loss

McKeesport was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They were dealt a 63-23 loss at the hands of the Penn-Trafford Warriors. The Tigers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-13.

It was another big night for Torrie Destefano, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten steals for Penn-Trafford. Those ten steals gave Destefano a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kamryn Pieper, who went 5 of 6 en route to 11 points in addition to five boards and three steals.

McKeesport's defeat dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Penn-Trafford, the win keeps them at an undefeated 19-0.

McKeesport will welcome South Park at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. South Park will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something McKeesport surely won't give up without a fight. As for Penn-Trafford, they will head out on the road to challenge Kiski Area at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
