Volleyball Recap: Seven Straight Home Wins for Brewer

Brewer's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Mount Desert Island Trojans. This was a revenge game for the Witches: when they faced off against the Trojans back in September, they had to take a 3-0 loss.

Brewer was actually outscored in aggregate across those four sets (95-93), but they still managed to win. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 16-25, 27-25, 25-22.

Brewer can attribute much of their success to Zoe Drake, who had 12 digs and two assists. Another player making a difference was Carmen Bryant, who had 11 digs.

Brewer pushed their record up to 9-4 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. As for Mount Desert Island, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matches. Brewer will venture away from home to square off against Hampden at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mount Desert Island, they will head out to take on Ellsworth at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
