Football Recap: Sissonville Indians vs. Clay County Panthers
Sissonville lost against Clay County back in September of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Indians were beaten by the Panthers 54-21. The Indians have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Clay County's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cooper Collins, who threw for 169 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 71.4% of his passes, and also rushed for 33 yards and one score. The dominant performance also gave Collins a new career-high in passer rating (151.5). Brody Scarbro was another key rusher, rushing for 92 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only nine carries.
Sissonville's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Clay County, the win got them back to even at 2-2.
Sissonville wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 28-19 victory against Ravenswood on the 26th. As for Clay County, they have also already played their next contest, a 37-16 win against South Harrison on the 26th.
