Softball Recap: Winterset Comes Up Short

Winterset had lost two consecutive heartbreakers to North Polk and they left with a heavy heart again on Saturday. The Huskies came up short against the Comets, falling 10-0. The Huskies have struggled against the Comets recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.

Winterset's loss dropped their record down to 17-9. As for North Polk, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 17-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Winterset will take on Bondurant-Farrar at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Huskies are facing the Bluejays at the right time seeing as the Bluejays are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for North Polk, they will face off against Ballard at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Comets will also cruise into their next game with the timing on their side: the Bombers will have lost three straight heading into Monday's matchup.
