Baseball Game Preview: Miller County Pirates vs. Pataula Charter Academy Panthers

The Miller County Pirates will square off against the Pataula Charter Academy Panthers at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Miller County is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.4 runs per game this season.

Miller County proved they can win big on Wednesday (they won by 20) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Seminole County, sneaking past 4-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Pirates have posted since March 12th.

Miller County saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Andrew Keown, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Wednesday just wasn't the day for Pataula Charter Academy's offense. They lost 20-0 to Miller County. The Panthers haven't had much luck with the Pirates recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Miller County's victory bumped their record up to 15-5. As for Pataula Charter Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 12-6.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Miller County has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.9 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Pataula Charter Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 5.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
