Softball Recap: Heritage Has No Trouble Against Douglas County

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Heritage and Douglas County, and Heritage kept the tradition alive. The Eagles blew past the Huskies 15-8 on Thursday. This was payback for the Eagles, who suffered a 9-3 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Bleu Meyer was incredible, going 3-for-5 with five RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Maddie Barbre, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Heritage kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. They are 6-3 when they post 11 or more hits.

Heritage's win bumped their record up to 6-13. As for Douglas County, their loss was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-13.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Heritage is set to take on their familiar foe Rock Canyon at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Douglas County will challenge rival Regis Jesuit at 3:00 p.m. on Monday.
