With a playoff win on the line, The King's Academy rose to the challenge on Saturday. Everything went their way against the St. Andrew's Lions as they made off with a 3-0 win. Winning may never get old, but the Knights sure are getting used to it with their tenth in a row.
Ayla Ringelberg paced The King's Academy's offense, picking up 12 kills. Ringelberg got some help from Cara Richard and her 31 assists. Rebekah Rickerson controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.
St. Andrew's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Makenna Riley, who had 13 digs and five kills. Riley is on a roll when it comes to kills, as she's now had five or more in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Grace Dare, who had 27 assists and eight digs.
The King's Academy's victory bumped their record up to 31-6. As for St. Andrew's, with the loss, they broke their three-match winning streak and moved their record to 19-12.
Looking ahead, The King's Academy will face off against Tallulah Falls at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. St. Andrew's does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
