Basketball Game Preview: South Fork Cubs vs. San Francisco Waldorf Wolverines

The South Fork Cubs just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the San Francisco Waldorf Wolverines at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. South Fork is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.

South Fork fought the good fight in their overtime game against Victory Christian Academy on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 35-32. One positive for the Cubs, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Meanwhile, San Francisco Waldorf earned a 35-22 win over Bentley back in December of 2024.

South Fork better keep an eye on Henry Hanlon. She was instrumental in San Francisco Waldorf's win, going 10 of 18 on her way to 21 points. That makes it four consecutive games in which Hanlon has scored at least a third of San Francisco Waldorf's points.

The victory got San Francisco Waldorf back to even at 2-2. As for South Fork, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.

South Fork took a serious blow against San Francisco Waldorf in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, falling 67-12. Thankfully for South Fork, Aasia Williams (who went 6 for 9 from beyond the arc on her way to 35 points) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
