Baseball Recap: Clayton Triumphs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Glassboro, Clayton was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They walked away with a 15-11 victory over the Penns Grove Red Devils. With that win, the Clippers brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

Jaiden Keller was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with four stolen bases, three runs, and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Clayton's success: when he posts at least three hits the team is 3-1 (and 6-14 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Mason Gable, who went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

Clayton's victory bumped their record up to 9-15. As for Penns Grove, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-15.

Looking ahead, Clayton is taking a road trip to take on Buena at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The Clippers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Chiefs have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season. Penns Grove does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
