Baseball Game Preview: Reed-Custer Comets vs. Peotone Blue Devils

For the second straight game, Reed-Custer will face off against Peotone. The Comets will host the Blue Devils at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The last four games Reed-Custer has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Reed-Custer came out on top against Peotone on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run seventh inning. The Comets skirted past the Blue Devils 10-8. The victory continues a trend for the Comets in their matchups with the Blue Devils: they've now won three in a row.

Thomas Emery made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Emery was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three runs and one stolen base. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2025.

In other batting news, Jeffrey Wolford was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Christian Mounts, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two RBI and one run.

Reed-Custer's win bumped their record up to 4-10. As for Peotone, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-11.
