Softball Recap: Waverly Comes Up Short

Waverly lost against Elkhorn back in August, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Vikings came up short against the Antlers, falling 10-2. The Vikings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Jill Hind was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. Blakeley Meyers was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Waverly's loss dropped their record down to 12-6. As for Elkhorn, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-9 record this season.

Waverly has already played their next contest, an 8-3 victory against Bennington on the 13th. As for Elkhorn, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 4-0 defeat against Gretna East on the 13th.
