Preview: Temple City Rams vs. Santiago Cavaliers
The Temple City Rams will be home for the holidays to greet the Santiago Cavaliers at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The timing is sure in Temple City's favor as the team sits on four straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Santiago has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
On Monday, Temple City was fully in charge, breezing past San Gabriel Academy 59-21 at home. With Temple City ahead 36-8 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Kristi Huynh was her usual excellent self, scoring 24 points along with six steals. The matchup was her third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Hailey Chau, who scored 17 points.
Meanwhile, Santiago's 18-8 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They were dealt a 62-22 loss at the hands of Rancho Cucamonga on Tuesday. Santiago was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-11.
The win got Temple City back to even at 7-7. As for Santiago, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-8.
