Football Recap: Palo Alto Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Palo Alto extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to six on Friday, dropping them down to 0-5. They were dealt a 35-7 defeat at the hands of the King's Academy Knights. The game marked the Vikings' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Even if they lost, Palo Alto's defensive line still kept up the pressure with five sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Joel Haunga, Kevin O'Brien, and Tevita Fusimalohi, who each picked up 1.5 sacks apiece.

As for King's Academy, their record is now 3-1. The result was nothing new for the Knights, who have now won three contests by 28 points or more so far this season.

King's Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ricky Gutierrez out in front who threw for 200 yards and three TDs while completing 78.9% of his passes. Drew Martinez helped Gutierrez out on the ground, rushing for 91 yards and one score on only 11 carries.

Palo Alto will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Wilcox at 7:00 p.m. on the 10th. The Chargers will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each game than the last. As for King's Academy, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 49-0 win against Berean Christian on the 4th.
