Pope posted their closest victory since August 12th on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the North Cobb Warriors 2-1. The victory continues a trend for the Greyhounds in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won seven in a row.

Pope found their leader in sophomore Wynnie Abney, who had 15 digs and two assists. Raegan Marshman also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Despite the defeat, North Cobb had strong showings from Hannah Nicholson, who had 20 digs and one assist, and Jenesys Moctezuma, who had six digs.

Pope's win bumped their record up to 13-3. As for North Cobb, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 9-7 record.

Pope has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Walton on the 23rd. As for North Cobb, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Cherokee at 6:30 p.m.
