Football Recap: East Mecklenburg Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Friday just wasn't the day for East Mecklenburg's offense. They were outmatched by the Ardrey Kell Knights and fell 48-0. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 230th, while the Knights are ranked 61st).

Aiden Donnelly threw for 73 yards on eight of 18 attempts. Chaz Taylor was his top target, picking up 28 receiving yards.

Tristan Rivest had an outrageously good game for Ardrey Kell as he rushed for 87 yards and one touchdown on only five carries.

East Mecklenburg's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Ardrey Kell, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.

East Mecklenburg will take on Palisades at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Pumas' defense has only allowed 13.6 points per game this season, so the Eagles' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Ardrey Kell, they will face off against Providence at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Knights will need to watch out since the Panthers have now posted at least 31 points in their last three contests.
