Soccer Game Preview: La Quinta vs. Shadow Hills

The La Quinta Blackhawks will square off against the Shadow Hills Knights at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

La Quinta is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Xavier Prep just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Monday. They and the Saints finished up their match with a 1-1 draw. The result kept the Blackhawks happy, as they haven't lost a game since January 15th.

Meanwhile, Shadow Hills came tearing into Monday's contest with three straight wins and they left with even more momentum. Their defense stepped up to hand the Rattlers a 2-0 shutout. Given the Knights' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 299th, while the Rattlers are ranked 783rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Shadow Hills has also been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4-2 record this season. La Quinta's draw makes their record 11-2-4 this season.

La Quinta came out on top in a nail-biter against Shadow Hills when the teams last played two weeks ago, sneaking past 3-2. Does La Quinta have another victory up their sleeve, or will Shadow Hills turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
