Soccer Game Preview: Palma vs. Pacific Grove

The Palma Chieftains will square off against the Pacific Grove Breakers at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Palma took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They never let Santa Catalina onto the board and left with a 1-0 victory. The Chieftains' winning goal came courtesy of Allison Guerra.

Palma was without their leading scorer, Genesis Vasquez, in Friday's game. With Vasquez sitting this one out, Yazmin Alvarado Ramirez got some extra time on the pitch (80 vs. her season average of 61.7).

Meanwhile, Pacific Grove was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 5-0 to Stevenson. That's two games in a row now that the Breakers have lost by exactly five goals.

Pacific Grove's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Palma, the win got them back to even at 3-3-1.
