Soccer Recap: Lick-Wilmerding Comes Up Short

If Lick-Wilmerding was feeling good fresh off their 4-0 takedown of Convent of the Sacred Heart last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Lick-Wilmerding Tigers fell 4-2 to the Urban Blues on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 347th, while the Blues are ranked 158th).

Lick-Wilmerding now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Urban, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Lick-Wilmerding challenge the San Domenico at 2:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Urban, they will head out to challenge Marin Academy at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Urban is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 4.2 goals per game this season.
