Softball Recap: Scottsbluff Takes a Loss

Scottsbluff made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Elkhorn, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Bearcats fell just short of the Antlers by a score of 6-4 on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Bearcats have suffered since September 13th.

Loural McCoy made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Danielle Hunter, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one double.

Scottsbluff's defeat dropped their record down to 13-12. As for Elkhorn, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a massive bump to their 16-12 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Scottsbluff will venture away from home to challenge Chadron on Tuesday. The Bearcats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cardinals have averaged an impressive 9.2 runs per game this season. As for Elkhorn, they will head out to take on Blair at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Antlers will need to watch out since the Bears have now posted at least ten runs in their last three contests.
