Basketball Recap: Hill School Rams vs. Mercersburg Academy Blue Storm

On Wednesday, the Hill School Rams faced the Mercersburg Academy Blue Storm in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Hill School slipped by the Blue Storm 54-53. The victory was just what Hill School needed coming off of a 64-43 loss in their prior match.

Hill School's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Lily Soller led the charge by scoring 15 points along with eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Sammie Faella, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds.

Despite the loss, Mercersburg Academy still got an impressive performance from Nia Henley, who scored 23 points. Another player making a difference was Madison Goodhart, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 15 rebounds.

Hill School has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 10-12 record this season. As for Mercersburg Academy, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 11-6.

Hill School will take on the Patriots at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Germantown Academy is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road. As for Mercersburg Academy, they will challenge the Raiders at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in their respective states (Hun is ranked 12th in New Jersey, while the Blue Storm are ranked tenth in Pennsylvania).
