Football Recap: Jefferson County Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Jefferson County had lost seven straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 0-3 to make it eight. They lost 33-12 to the Academy for Classical Education Gryphons. The Warriors lost against the Gryphons in their previous head to head back in August of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 45-0 score last time.

Raquis 'RJ' Tennyson threw for 62 yards on four of 13 attempts. Garron Ponder was his top target, picking up 38 receiving yards.

As for Academy for Classical Education, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 12 points this season.

Bryson Vincent was nothing short of spectacular: he rushed for 154 yards and three TDs. Those 154 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Speaking of playmakers, who could forget Noah Syme, who went all the way with a kickoff return for a touchdown.
