Basketball Recap: Mastery Charter Hardy Williams Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Hawa Traore and Mi'asiah Mccabe

Mastery Charter Hardy Williams scored the most points they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They fell 37-26 to the Mastery Warrior. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 272nd in Pennsylvania, while the Warrior are ranked 116th in New Jersey).

Mastery Charter Hardy Williams' loss came despite strong showings from Mi'Asiah McCabe and Hawa Traore. McCabe posted 12 points, while Traore had nine points. That's the most points McCabe has posted since back in December of 2023.

Mastery can attribute much of their success to Johnaysia Butler, who earned 16 points. Another player making a difference was Brasyia Stern, who put up nine points.

This is the second loss in a row for Mastery Charter Hardy Williams and nudges their season record down to 2-4. As for Mastery, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-1.

Mastery Charter Hardy Williams didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 34-24 victory against Parkway Center City on the 17th. As for Mastery, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 32-11 win against Delaware Valley Friends on the 16th.
