Baseball Recap: Buchholz Finds Playoff Glory Versus First Coast

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Buchholz had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the First Coast Buccaneers with a sharp 9-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Bobcats, who have now won 14 contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Dion Wilburn looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched.

At the plate, Roen Kresak was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Kai So, who went 3-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Buchholz was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as First Coast only posted a batting average of .269.

Buchholz's victory was their 24th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 28-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for First Coast, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 17-11.

As of now, neither Buchholz nor the Buccaneers have any future games scheduled.
