Softball Recap: Des Moines East Takes a Loss

Des Moines East was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 9-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Marshalltown Bobcats. The Scarlets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bobcats apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in June of 2024.

Des Moines East's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Marshalltown, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 9-10.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Bobcats beat Des Moines East by a score of 10-9 later that day.
