Baseball Recap: Lyons Comes Up Short

Lyons lost to Sodus back in April and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Lions lost 16-1 to the Spartans.

Lyons saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jacob Bookmiller, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI. That double marked the first that Bookmiller has hit this season.

Lyons has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season. As for Sodus, their win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-2.

Lyons wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 6-5 victory against Finney on the 15th. As for Sodus, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-1 win against East Rochester on the 15th.
