Softball Recap: Ashland-Greenwood Snags Sixth Victory in Last Eight Games

Ashland-Greenwood put their dominant pitcher on display in the team's fourth consecutive shutout on Saturday. They never let the Ralston Rams get on the board and left with a 1-0 victory. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 2-0 victory on Thursday.

The result came thanks to Sofia Dill's shutout, as she gave up just four hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Ashland-Greenwood saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ellie Milburn, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Ashland-Greenwood has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-9 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Ralston, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 17-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ashland-Greenwood will welcome Bishop Neumann at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Ralston, they will challenge Yutan-Mead at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
