Recap: Orange Cove Titans vs. Corcoran Panthers
This season hasn't been kind to the Orange Cove Titans, who are still winless after their 15th contest. They took a serious blow against Corcoran on Friday, falling 70-9. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Orange Cove in their matchups with Corcoran: they've now lost five in a row.
Emilee Santos was her usual excellent self, scoring 24 points along with three steals for Corcoran. Those 24 points set a new season-high mark for her. Katalina Castillo was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with five rebounds and five steals.
Orange Cove bumped their record down to 0-15 with that defeat, which was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 23.5 points per game. As for Corcoran, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-8.
Orange Cove will be playing in front of their home fans against Granite Hills at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Granite Hills is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak. As for Corcoran, they will head out on the road to face off against Orosi at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
