Basketball Recap: Jovanny Cuevas' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Lowry over Virgin Valley + How To Watch

Lowry was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 62-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Virgin Valley Bulldogs. If the Buckaroos were looking for revenge after losing 57-43 to the Bulldogs when the teams met back in December of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Several Buckaroos players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jovanny Cuevas, who went 10-for-20 to rack up 23 points. With that strong performance, Cuevas is now averaging an impressive 16.4 points per game. Byron Jimenez also deserves some recognition as he posted his first blocks of the season.

Lowry's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Virgin Valley, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.

Lowry didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 67-62 victory against Wooster on the 8th. As for Virgin Valley, they have also already played their next game, a 56-44 win against GV Christian on the 8th.
