Football Recap: Sedgwick Comes Up Short

Sedgwick was the 39-7 winner over Sacred Heart when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Cardinals fell 12-6 to the Knights on Friday. The Cardinals have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Sacred Heart's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Dom Matteucci, who rushed for 104 yards and one TD. That's the most rushing yards Matteucci has posted since back in October of 2024.

Sedgwick's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Sacred Heart, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 3-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Sedgwick will take on Inman on Friday. The Cardinals will need to watch out since the Inman Teutons have now posted at least 31 points in their last four matchups. As for Sacred Heart, they will square off against Bennington at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Knights will be up against the Bulldogs' rather soft defense (which has allowed 53.2 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
