Lake Central skates past La Porte with ease

Recap: Lake Central Indians vs. La Porte Slicers

The Lake Central Indians have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matches by 25 points or more this season. They really took it to La Porte for the full four quarters, racking up a 70-17 victory on the road. The win was familiar territory for Lake Central who now have four in a row.

Lake Central was led to victory by Vanessa Wimberly and Nadia Clayton. Wimberly scored ten points along with eight assists and four steals, while Clayton scored 18 points. Clayton is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ayla Krygier, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds.

Lake Central pushed their record up to 16-3 with that victory, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 30.33 points. As for La Porte, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost nine of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-15 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lake Central is on the road again on Thursday and play against Portage at 7:00 p.m. on January 11th. As for La Porte, they will challenge Plymouth at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Plymouth focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Saturday.
